How to contact Gatwick Airport

This is a directory of London Gatwick's own contact channels: customer services and the Service Centre desks in each terminal, the feedback and complaints route, lost property, special assistance, and parking and drop-off enquiries. For anything about your flight, a delay, a cancellation, a refund or a missing bag, the airline that operated it is the right contact, not the airport. Each section names the channel and what it handles. How to reach this website, an independent guide and not the airport, is the last section.

Gatwick customer services

London Gatwick runs its own customer contact through its Service Centre. The airport publishes the current phone and online routes on its contact page, and it staffs two in-person Service Centres in the terminals: at the North Terminal by check-in Zone D, and at the South Terminal by check-in Zone J. On the day, those desks are the quickest way to reach the airport with a question about the building, wayfinding or an operational issue.

Phone numbers and hours change, and the general enquiries number is quoted inconsistently across third-party sites, so this page sends you to the airport's own contact page for the current line rather than printing one that may be wrong. The airport handles the terminals, security queues, the forecourts, its official parking products and the wider operation. It does not handle your flight, which is the airline's job, covered below.

Complaints and feedback

Comments and complaints about the airport go through London Gatwick's own complaints procedure and customer feedback form. Make a complaint no later than 30 days after the date of travel unless there are exceptional circumstances. The airport aims to acknowledge it within 48 hours, and where a complaint needs investigation that can take up to 28 working days.

This route covers the airport itself: terminal facilities, signage, security queues, the parking products, and interactions with Gatwick staff or contractors on site. A complaint about the flight (a delay, cancellation, downgrade, denied boarding, or a bag) goes to the airline, not the airport, as the flight section below explains.

Lost property

Lost property at Gatwick is run by the Excess Baggage Company on the airport's behalf, and logged online at lostproperty.org, not through the airport switchboard and not through this site. Items take 24 to 48 hours to appear on the database after they are handed in, and there is a reclaim fee. The claim process, the fee and the timelines are on the lost property guide.

Items left on an aircraft are a different matter: they are handled by the airline through its ground agent, not by airport lost property, so contact the airline that operated the flight. Items left on a train or at the station go to the rail operator's own lost property route.

Special assistance

Special assistance at Gatwick is free, available at both terminals, and booked through your airline rather than the airport, ideally at least 48 hours before you travel. The airline records the assistance code on your booking and passes it to the airport's on-site assistance team, who meet you at the point you present and help through to the gate.

If you have not pre-booked, help points around the airport and the Assisted Travel desks in the check-in areas connect you to the team, though a booked request is met faster at peak. How to arrange it, where to present, and what the service covers is on the special assistance guide.

Parking, drop-off and Blue Badge

Parking bookings, amendments and refunds go through the official parking operator, reached from the parking guide, which also compares every car park. The forecourt drop-off charge is billed separately by NCP, not the airport switchboard:

  • Pay a drop-off charge: online, or by the automated phone line on 0330 174 4503, by midnight the day after your visit. The charge and the free alternative are on the drop-off guide.
  • Query or dispute a drop-off charge: NCP administers it, at customer.service@ncp.co.uk or 0345 050 7080 (option 4).
  • Blue Badge drop-off exemption: it is not automatic. Register the vehicle with NCP before your visit; the Blue Badge assistance line is 0800 678 3353, or use the intercom on the payment machines.

These billing contacts change, so check them against the official drop-off page before you rely on one. The airport's own parking pages carry the current detail.

Flight, baggage and refund enquiries

For anything that happened to your flight or your bag, the airline that operated the flight is the right contact, not the airport. The airport runs the infrastructure; the airline runs the flight, the check-in, the boarding, the baggage handling, and the refund and compensation process. The airport cannot issue compensation, change a flight or trace a bag.

A delay, cancellation or denied boarding is a claim against the airline under UK261; a missing or damaged bag is reported to the airline's baggage desk in the reclaim hall before you leave; and a refund comes from whoever sold the ticket. The full picture, including when a delay qualifies and how to escalate, is on the delays and cancellations guide, and every carrier is listed by terminal on the airlines page.

Press and corporate

Press and media enquiries go to London Gatwick's own media centre at mediacentre.gatwickairport.com, which carries the airport's press releases and traffic statistics. The airport operator is Gatwick Airport Limited (company number 01991018), whose registered office is 5th Floor, Destinations Place, Gatwick, West Sussex, RH6 0NP; its ownership and the site's independence from it are set out on the legal notice.

gatwickairport-info.co.uk is the independent guide you are reading. It is not London Gatwick, and an email to the site does not reach the airport, an airline, or a parking or hotel operator. To report something that needs fixing on the site, a price that has moved, a number that has changed, a broken link or an out-of-date detail, email contact@gatwickairport-info.co.uk with the page address, the section heading and your source. The same address takes feedback and suggestions.
